MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, has unveiled several new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2026, aimed at preparing students for emerging careers shaped by technological change, sustainability priorities and evolving industry needs. The new programmes reflect the university’s continued focus on academic relevance, practical learning and responsible leadership.

Among the newly introduced offerings is a Btech in Renewable Energy, designed to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in clean and sustainable energy solutions. With India accelerating its transition towards renewable power and electric mobility, the programme equips students with the technical and analytical capabilities required for roles in renewable energy design, energy auditing, smart grids, electric vehicle systems and sustainability consulting. It also opens avenues for entrepreneurship and research in next-generation energy technologies.

To support India’s expanding semiconductor and electronics ecosystem, MIT-WPU has launched a Btech in Electronics with a specialisation in Semiconductor and VLSI Design. The programme focuses on building strong fundamentals in chip design, verification and embedded systems, enabling graduates to pursue careers as VLSI and verification engineers, semiconductor process specialists, embedded systems developers and R&D professionals across domestic and global technology firms.

At the postgraduate level, the university has introduced an MTech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to meet the increasing demand for expertise in intelligent and data-driven systems. The programme prepares students for careers in machine learning, data science, generative AI, robotics and applied AI across sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing and technology, while also offering pathways into advanced research and doctoral studies.

MIT-WPU has also launched an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Family Business Management, aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs and next-generation family business leaders. With a strong emphasis on experiential learning, the programme supports students in building, scaling and managing ventures, while also preparing them for roles in venture capital, incubation, business strategy and innovation-driven organisations.

In the design domain, the university has introduced an MDes in Strategic Product Design, which integrates design thinking with business and technology perspectives. The programme prepares graduates for careers in product design, user experience and service design, innovation consulting, product management and sustainability-focused design roles across industries.

Additionally, MIT-WPU has expanded its Liberal Arts offerings through BA and BSc Programmes (Honours and Honours with Research), aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These multidisciplinary programmes provide students with academic flexibility and research exposure, preparing them for careers across psychology, public policy, media, analytics, human resources, social impact, public administration and international relations, as well as for higher studies in India and abroad.
