- Amity University organised an International Symposium on ‘Trends in Green and Sustainable Chemistry’ at its campus
Amity Institute of Click Chemistry Research and Studies (AICCRS), Amity University, Noida Campus organised an International Symposium on ‘Trends in Green and Sustainable Chemistry’ which aimed to advance the discourse on Green and Sustainable Chemistry and facilitate collaboration among professionals, researchers and academics in Green and Sustainable Chemistry.
“Amity University is doing phenomenal work in the area of Click Chemistry. This Symposium will be highly beneficial for the young budding researchers since it will serve as a platform for the cross-pollination of ideas, encouraging participants to draw inspiration from diverse perspectives and contribute to the evolution of sustainable practices”, Michele Vittadello, Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science Medgar Evers College, The City University of New York (CUNY), stated.
“Green Chemistry helps in the reduction and elimination of the use as well as generation of hazardous substances, which adversely impact the environment, thereby ensuring a sustainable environment. Research in this area will lead to a cleaner and greener environment, which is extremely crucial for all living beings”, Mahesh Lakshman, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, The City College and The City University of New York, said.
“Students are the future of the country and the responsibility of making the world a better place, rests on their shoulders. Therefore, by carrying out research in different areas, students must create new technologies and innovations that can be used for the development of the nation. A sustainable environment is the need of the hour and new technologies have emerged to foster sustainability and minimize the production of harmful chemical substances”, Dr W Selvamurthy, President of Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), stated.
“Amity Institute of Click Chemistry is constantly working towards carrying out great research work in the area of Click Chemistry, an important branch of Chemistry that enables the production of new molecules and substances. Vibrant exchange of ideas during interactive sessions and panel discussions led by the experts will stimulate innovative thinking and development of new approaches to combat the challenges in Green and Sustainable Chemistry”, Dr Monalisa Mukherjee, Director, AICCRS, said.
The one-day Symposium at Medgar Evers College, The City University of New York, featured technical sessions on topics like curry leaves bioactivity, ayurvedic chemistry for a sustainable planet and non-ionic amphiphilic nano-transporters for biomedical applications.
