- State Bank of India opens applications for 7,680 Junior Associate posts from August 11 to 31, 2026. Eligible graduates can apply for the clerical recruitment, with the preliminary exam tentatively scheduled for September.
The State Bank of India (SBI) has begun with the recruitment process for 7,680 posts of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical category. Applications will be invited online from August 11, 2026, to August 31, 2026. This is a great chance for graduates to become a part of SBI through its Junior Associate Recruitment Process.
Apart from the usual vacancies, SBI provides 2,086 backlog vacancies, thus bringing the total number of vacancies for which candidates can apply to 9,766. Only one State or Union Territory can be chosen by candidates for application to vacancies, and candidates have to satisfy the required eligibility criteria for that particular chosen location. Candidates also have to prove their proficiency in the prescribed local language of the chosen State or Union Territory.
In case of education criterion, candidates need to have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification as recognized by SBI. Candidates who are in the final year of their degree course can also be eligible provided they satisfy the required qualifications within the stipulated period. Age criterion is usually between 20 to 28 years, which may vary as per the provisions of the government.
The examination process involves a Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination, and Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) where applicable. The Preliminary Examination is likely to be held in September 2026, whereas the Main Examination is scheduled to be conducted in November 2026. The marks scored by candidates in the Preliminary Examination will not contribute to their final merit list. The final selection will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the Main Examination.
Preliminary Test will have three papers including English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. 60 minutes is provided for all three papers with different time limit for each paper. The Main Exam will assess the candidate’s capability in more general fields that pertain to banking operations whereas Local Language Test will determine the candidate’s competency in reading, writing and speaking that particular language.
The SBI also offers online pre-exam training for eligible candidates from specific categories in line with the guidelines issued by the government. Those who would like to take advantage of this service need to express their willingness while applying online.
