- Delhi University announces its Financial Support Scheme for 2026-27, offering eligible students up to a 100% fee waiver based on family income. Applications remain open until October 13, 2026.
The University of Delhi (DU) announces the Financial Support Scheme (FSS) for the 2026-27 academic session, offering fee assistance to eligible students from lower-income families. The scheme is introduced by the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) to reduce the financial burden on students pursuing full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at DU departments, institutes and centres.
Under the scheme, financial assistance is determined according to the annual family income of applicants. Students whose annual family income is up to Rs 4 lakh are eligible for a fee waiver of up to 100 per cent. The assistance is limited to the actual fee payable or Rs 15,000, whichever is lower.
Students with an annual family income between Rs 4.1 lakh and Rs 8 lakh are eligible for a fee waiver of up to 50 per cent, subject to a maximum assistance of Rs 10,000 or the actual fee, whichever is lower.
The scheme is available to full-time bona fide students enrolled in eligible UG and PG programmes offered through DU departments, institutes and centres. However, students enrolled in constituent colleges, BTech programmes except those offered through the Cluster Innovation Centre, five-year integrated law programmes, and the School of Open Learning (SOL) and the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) are excluded. Students who have an Essential Repeat (ER) status in any previous examination are also not eligible.
Eligible students must submit their applications online by October 13, 2026. Applicants are required to provide an annual family income certificate or applicable EWS/OBC-NCL certificate issued by a competent authority for the financial year 2025-26. Notarised income certificates and certificates issued in the student’s name are not accepted.
Applicants may also need to submit relevant income tax returns and PAN cards of eligible family members, along with an undertaking form, bonafide certificate, previous examination marksheet, latest fee receipt and a bank passbook or cancelled cheque showing the student’s details.
Students seeking financial assistance are advised to complete the online application within the deadline and check the official DU and DSW websites for further instructions regarding document submission and verification.
