- SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, held its 26th Graduation Day ceremony, where 959 students from undergraduate, postgraduate and management programmes were awarded degrees.
The graduating cohort included students across engineering, management and allied disciplines. According to the institution, 221 undergraduate students secured First Class with Distinction, while 728 students graduated with First Class. Department rank holders were also recognised during the ceremony.
Degrees were conferred on students from programmes including Master of Business Administration, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
The ceremony was attended by T S Tirumurti, former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, New York, and Ram C Sekar, Co-Founder, Canfan Private Limited, as chief guests.
Other attendees included R Srinivasan, Chairman, SSN Institutions; Sundar Mahalingam, Chairman, SSN Institutions, Shiv Nadar Foundation; and Radha S, Principal, SSN College of Engineering.
Addressing students, T S Tirumurti said graduates were entering a rapidly changing environment shaped by technology, economic shifts and geopolitical uncertainty, where adaptability and continued learning would be important.
Radha S, Principal, SSN College of Engineering, said the 2026 batch had recorded progress in campus placements, with several students receiving high-value offers.
According to the institution, scholarships worth Rs 5 crore were awarded during the year to meritorious and eligible students.
The college also stated that placements for the 2026 batch were underway, while students from the previous batch had received offers from companies across technology, finance, manufacturing and consulting sectors.
The event concluded with graduating students taking an oath on professional ethics and social responsibility.
The ceremony comes as engineering institutions across India continue to highlight placements, scholarships and employability outcomes alongside academic milestones.
