NTU Holds Scholarship Events for Indian Students

  • University recognises scholarship recipients at Nottingham campus, including more than 500 Indian students

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has held a series of scholarship recognition events at its City Campus in Nottingham for international students awarded scholarships during the current academic year.

The events were organised across two evenings and brought together students admitted in the September 2025 and January 2026 intakes.

According to the university, a total of 1,596 scholarships were awarded to students in this cohort, including 524 recipients from India.

The gatherings were aimed at recognising academic achievement while helping new students engage with the university community at an early stage of their academic journey.

Students received certificates from academics representing their respective schools and were given opportunities to interact with faculty members and fellow students.

The events also included performances and campus engagement activities.

The recognised students were recipients of merit-based awards, including the NTU Excellence Awards and the India Prestigious University Award, across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Anna Audhali, Senior Regional Manager, Nottingham Trent University, said the events were intended to acknowledge the efforts of scholarship recipients and support their transition into university life.

She added that Indian students continued to make an important contribution to the institution’s international student community.

The development comes as overseas education choices increasingly reflect not only academic rankings and career outcomes, but also student support systems, campus experience and integration opportunities.

Scholarship schemes are also being used by universities as part of broader international recruitment and retention strategies in a competitive global market.

Indian students remain one of the largest overseas student groups across UK higher education institutions, making scholarship recognition and engagement initiatives an important part of university outreach.
