- Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, has established National Skill Training Institutes (NSTI) Plus
NSTI Plus, under the Directorate General of Training, will provide high-quality skill training and vocational education at the regional level to 500 instructors in Phase 1 under the Craftsmen Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) and will incorporate another 500 for upskilling and reskilling.
The event was attended by the Minister of State for Rural Development, Skill Development & Technical Education.
NSTI Plus focuses on educating youth, providing hands-on training on new technologies and fostering an effective learning environment. NSTI Plus aims to make vocational training more accessible, inclusive and innovative.
“NSTI Plus is a hub for emerging start-ups, an incubation center and a training facility, potentially serving as a prototype for other states. It focuses on youth education, hands-on technology training and an effective learning environment”, Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, said.
NSTIs will serve as capacity-building centers for educators in schools, designing courses and training programmes in collaboration with industries to meet local community needs. The institute offers specialised training programmes to unlock the potential of youth in various fields, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, executives and faculty members. The courses will be conducted in collaboration with IGNOU, NIOS, SIIC and NIOS at the NSTI Plus campaign.
