  • IIT Delhi launches the fourth batch of its six-month Design Thinking for User Experience certificate programme, open to graduates with one year of experience, with online classes beginning November 27, 2026.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched the fourth batch of its Certificate Programme in Design Thinking for User Experience, inviting applications from graduates seeking to develop skills in UX design and digital product development. The six-month programme is offered through the institute’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), with classes scheduled to begin on November 27, 2026, and conclude on May 29, 2027.

The programme aims to equip participants with a human-centred approach to designing digital products. Its curriculum combines design fundamentals with practical workflows to help learners understand user needs, develop product concepts and create accessible, intuitive digital experiences.

According to IIT Delhi, graduates from any discipline with at least one year of industry experience are eligible to apply. The programme is designed for professionals interested in developing expertise in UX research, interface design, product development and related fields.

The curriculum covers the core stages of the user experience design process, including user research, analysis, ideation, prototyping, usability testing and implementation. Participants will also explore user surveys, case studies and methods for evaluating digital products. The programme combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises and projects to help learners apply design thinking principles to real-world challenges.

Professor Aneesha Sharma, Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Design at IIT Delhi, will coordinate the programme. She brings more than 25 years of experience in UX design practice and education. Before joining IIT Delhi, she headed the Information Design Department at the National Institute of Design (NID) and led the India UX team at GE Digital, where she worked on products for manufacturing and automation.

Classes will be conducted online on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, allowing working professionals to pursue the programme alongside their existing commitments. The total programme fee is ₹1,49,000, excluding 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST). An additional application fee applies.

Participants who secure at least 60% marks overall and maintain a minimum attendance of 50% will receive a Certificate of Successful Completion from CEP, IIT Delhi. Those who do not meet both requirements will receive a Certificate of Participation.

The programme reflects the growing importance of user-centred design in digital product development. As businesses focus on improving usability and customer experience, professionals with skills in research, interaction design and product innovation can pursue opportunities across technology, design and product management.
