The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has announced the establishment of a dedicated Department of Statistics and Data Science, marking a significant step in strengthening its academic and research ecosystem in one of the fastest-growing technology domains. The department will offer a comprehensive range of academic programmes, including Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Science-Master of Science (BS-MS), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. These programmes aim to equip students with a strong foundation in statistical theory, mathematical modeling, computational techniques, and modern data science applications.
