The University of Leeds is now inviting applications for its full-time, 12-month MSc in AI Ethics and Society, commencing in September 2026. This forward-looking programme is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders to navigate the complex ethical, societal, and governance challenges posed by artificial intelligence. Students gain strategic insight into how AI shapes public life, from policymaking to trust and accountability, while learning to design responsible systems that serve society.
Offered by the Leeds Institute for Societal Futures, the programme delivers a truly interdisciplinary education, integrating expertise from philosophy, social sciences, public policy, and technology. Alongside core modules in AI and ethics, students engage in challenge-based learning to address real-world dilemmas, covering topics such as bias in AI, power and democracy in automated systems, human-AI interaction, and the evolution of knowledge in a digital age. The curriculum is further enriched through contributions from industry experts, policymakers, and NGOs, ensuring teaching is closely aligned with contemporary debates surrounding AI.
Entry Requirements: First class or grade equivalent undergraduate degree in a relevant subject from a recognised Indian university.

English Language Requirements: Students will need Standard XII English at 70% or 75% depending on the state board, or IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.
