The agreement comes as Hokkaido University marks its 150th anniversary in 2026. For JSS AHER, the partnership adds to its international engagement efforts and provides a framework for expanding research connections with Japanese institutions.

The collaboration is expected to support knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary research and new learning opportunities across the participating institutions. Its long-term impact will depend on how effectively the universities translate the agreement into joint projects, academic exchanges and research outcomes.
