- Delhi University’s Campus of Open Learning begins admissions for foreign language and professional programmes, expanding flexible education opportunities through certificate, diploma, and career-focused courses.
The Campus of Open Learning (COL) at the University of Delhi begins the admission process for its one-year certificate and diploma courses in foreign languages along with several professional programmes for the 2026–27 academic sessions. The initiative aims to expand access to flexible, skill-based education and provide learners with opportunities to strengthen their academic and career prospects.
The foreign language programmes are offered through the Open Learning Development Centre (OLDC) under the Department of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE), School of Open Learning (SOL), in collaboration with various departments of the University of Delhi. The courses include German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages, enabling students to develop global communication skills and improve their professional opportunities.
The university is also expanding its language education offerings by introducing Russian language certificate and diploma programmes in collaboration with the Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies. These courses are designed to provide learners with broader exposure to international languages and cultures. The institution is planning to make several language programmes available through online learning modes to increase accessibility for students across different regions.
Alongside language courses, admissions for professional programmes under DDCE and SOL are scheduled to begin from June 17. The programmes include Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc), Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc), and Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Digital Media Leadership (PGDADLM).
The professional courses are structured to support skill enhancement, career development, and continuous learning among students, graduates, and working professionals. Through open and distance learning formats, COL provides an alternative pathway for learners seeking quality education while managing other academic or professional commitments.
The expansion of these programmes reflects Delhi University’s focus on modernising higher education and aligning academic offerings with changing industry requirements. By combining flexible learning models with globally relevant language and professional courses, the university continues to strengthen its role in promoting inclusive and accessible education.
The initiative highlights the growing importance of multidisciplinary learning, where language proficiency, professional expertise, and digital learning opportunities contribute to preparing students for a competitive global environment.
