Academic Alliance, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), visited Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, on 6th February and interacted with students and faculty members on emerging industry trends, future skill requirements, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in the IT sector.
Dr. Suceendran was accompanied by Mr. Souvik Das, Regional Head – Academic Alliance, India East, TCS, and Mr. Gaurab Ray, Regional Head – Talent Acquisition India East, TCS. During the session, Dr. Suceendran emphasized that while AI is transforming several roles, sustainable employability will be driven by strong technical fundamentals, hands-on project experience, and industry-relevant skills, with AI acting as a support tool rather than a substitute. He also highlighted the growing importance of data security and responsible enterprise-level AI adoption.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. PradipAgarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions; Prof. Souvik Bhattacharyya, Principal Advisor, Heritage; Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology; and Mr. Kaushik Bhattacharya, Head, Training and Placement Office, Heritage. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. PradipAgarwal remarked, “Meaningful engagement with industry leaders is essential for preparing students for future-ready careers. Such interactions help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, ensuring our graduates remain relevant in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.”
Dr. Suceendran also shared TCS’s journey to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services organization. The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both TCS and Heritage Institute of Technology towards strengthening industry–academia collaboration and nurturing skilled, industry-ready professionals.
