WeSchool Announces Admissions for Second Batch of India’s First Post-Graduate Program in Temple Management

Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool), Mumbai, has announced admissions for the second batch of its pioneering Post Graduate Program in Temple Management (PGPTM), commencing in September 2025.

The announcement follows the successful graduation of the inaugural batch earlier this year, marking a significant milestone in WeSchool’s efforts to build temple management as a professional field of education in India.

Developed in collaboration with Temple Connect, the PGPTM is India’s first-of-its-kind program designed to professionalize the administration of temples and places of worship. The program adopts a scientific and management-driven approach, ensuring that devotees enjoy a seamless experience while temples strengthen their role as centers of spirituality, heritage, and community engagement.

The PGPTM offers a holistic curriculum with subjects ranging from community management and understanding the spiritual economy to heritage conservation and operational excellence in religious institutions. In addition to classroom learning, this year’s batch will gain from experiential learning through visits and interacting with experts, allowing students to observe and understand diverse management practices in real time. The program has already attracted a wide network of participants, with alumni from ISKCON Chowpatty, Rishikesh, Jivdani Devi Temple, as well as professionals from corporate backgrounds, reflecting its broad appeal. Interest in the program continues to grow—while the inaugural batch drew students from across India, including outside Maharashtra, the September 2025 intake is expected to triple to 60 students.

Speaking about the initiative, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, said:

“The graduation of our first PGPTM batch is a testament to WeSchool’s commitment to pioneering management programs that address the evolving needs of society. By combining contemporary management practices with India’s spiritual heritage, the PGPTM program not only equips students with unique skills but also contributes to cultural stewardship and nation-building. With the launch of the second batch, we aim to further strengthen this emerging domain and prepare professionals who can create meaningful impact in temple administration and beyond.”

With India’s temples increasingly serving as hubs of spirituality, heritage, and community engagement, the PGPTM program is a pioneering step towards creating a pool of skilled professionals who will contribute to cultural preservation and nation-building. The initiative also reflects WeSchool’s belief in education as a form of social responsibility, using management knowledge to enrich cultural and spiritual institutions.

Admissions for the September 2025 batch are now open.
