Students from the pioneering B.Tech in Climate Change Programme at the Anant School for Climate Action, Anant National University, recently met with Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, to discuss India’s Net Zero vision and the nation’s pathway to a sustainable future.
The Hon’ble Minister shared highlights of the meeting on his X handle, describing it as “a very enriching exchange.” He commended the students’ enthusiasm to understand India’s climate action roadmap and their curiosity to explore how technology and innovation can power a greener future. He also reiterated India’s commitment to meeting the energy needs of 140 crore citizens while containing the country’s carbon footprint on its journey towards Net Zero.
Discussions during the interaction spanned career opportunities in climate change technologies and policy, the rigour and skill-building offered at the Anant School for Climate Action, strategies to balance India’s growing energy requirements with its Net Zero commitments, and the critical role of youth leadership in shaping climate policy.
The interaction not only provided students with first-hand exposure to the national climate agenda but also reinforced Anant National University’s vision of preparing a new generation of climate professionals equipped to deliver innovative, technology-led sustainability solutions for India and the world.
