- MoU outlines faculty and student exchanges, with focus on comparative legal perspectives
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Law School, Mumbai, a recently established institution under the BITS Pilani initiative, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the USC Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California. The agreement sets the stage for academic collaboration between the two institutions, with a focus on student and faculty engagement through an international framework.
It includes pathways for BITS Law School students to pursue Master of Laws (LLM) programmes at USC Gould and the potential development of dual degree offerings such as a Bachelor of Laws Juris Doctor (LLB JD).
Addressing the collaboration, Ashish Bharadwaj, Founding Dean, BITS Law School, stated, “We are proud to partner with USC Gould School of Law. With overlapping strengths in technology, media and entertainment law, this partnership will equip students to navigate complex legal challenges in rapidly evolving sectors.”
The collaboration includes provisions for faculty and student exchanges and opportunities to engage with varied legal systems and perspectives. The partnership further envisions collaborative research, co-teaching initiatives, and a dynamic Summer School hosted at USC Gould in Los Angeles.
