Nayanta University Set to Launch Classes in August 2025

  • Nayanta University, a new private university in Pune, will begin classes in August 2025, offering a residential undergraduate programme.

Nayanta University, a university under the Maharashtra State Private University Act, will commence classes in August 2025. The university aspires to be a world-class institution and is supported by prominent industrialists, including Naushad Forbes, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Nadir Godrej, Meher Pudumjee and Satish Reddy.

Located on a picturesque six-acre campus in Bavdhan, Pune, Nayanta will offer a fully residential undergraduate programme that promises a transformative educational experience. During the launch event, Kris Gopalakrishnan highlighted the importance of value-based institutions and the significant role of founders in cultivating a strong institutional culture.

Naushad Forbes stressed the pressing need for higher-quality educational institutions in India. He expressed confidence in Nayanta’s commitment to a need-blind, merit-based admission process and underscored the university’s intention to reflect India’s economic and geographic diversity.

Nayanta University has partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industries, ensuring a highly differentiated education framework that combines theory with practice and deep technical and cultural literacy.

In a bid to accommodate individual interests, Nayanta will offer a diverse range of courses, allowing students to declare their preferences after completing an 18-month multidisciplinary foundation programme. Admissions for the inaugural programme will open in February 2025 and the first batch will begin classes in August 2025.

The launch event attracted a wide array of attendees, including members of the education community, civil society organisations and industry representatives, showcasing a strong interest in Nayanta University’s mission and vision.
