ICFAI Tech Concludes INSPIRE Internship Science Camp

  • ICFAI Tech’s five-day INSPIRE Internship Science Camp ignited young minds through hands-on experiments, inspiring lectures, and interactive discussions.

Five- day INSPIRE Internship Science Camp conducted by ICFAI Tech, Hyderabad and Dept of Science and Technology (Govt of India) concluded here on Friday January 10, 2025. The Science camp was inaugurated on January 6, 2025 at its Campus located on Shankerpally Road, Hyderabad.

Features of the camp
The camp featured interactive lectures, hands-on experiments and group discussions led by DST mentors, sparking a passion for science among students. The DST INSPIRE Internship Science Camp at ICFAI Tech reaffirms the institute’s dedication to fostering scientific inquiry and preparing the next generation of innovators to contribute to India’s scientific and technological advancement.

Inaugural Session
The Chief Guest, Bhujanga Rao, Scientist and Former Director of DRDO and Chairman of KIMS Foundation and Research Center, inspired students with his thought-provoking address. He highlighted the critical role of science and technology in nation-building and encouraged students to “dream big,” quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Rao also spoke about the qualities of curiosity, creativity, and courage as essential for scientific exploration and urged students to identify the type of scientist they aspire to be.

Valedictory Session
Chief Guest, B.S. Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad, highlighted the significance of goal-setting, unwavering commitment and hard work. Drawing from his experiences, he illustrated how passion and perseverance can lead to remarkable achievements. Murty also highlighted the critical role of young minds in realising a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India), urging students to align their career aspirations with the nation’s future needs. He recommended reading Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s “Ignited Minds” to inspire big dreams and the pursuit of excellence.

The Science Camp reaffirmed ICFAI Tech’s commitment to nurturing scientific curiosity and innovation. By facilitating interactions with renowned scientists and providing exposure to advanced research, the camp empowered students to envision a future where they contribute meaningfully to India’s scientific and technological progress.

About 250 students from various 15 colleges within the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad participated in the five day programme. The closing ceremony featured the distribution of certificates and awards. Special recognition was given to students who excelled in quizzes, lab activities, and the idea competition.
