The Honourable Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, A.N. Shamseer, recently visited the JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi campus as a part of the Deeksharambh student orientation program organized by the university. He was greeted by Dr. Tom Joseph, Director-New Initiatives, JAIN Deemed-to-be University and Dr. K. Madhukumar, Joint Controller of Examinations, JAIN Deemed-to-be University, along with the faculty, staff, and students.
During the campus visit A.N Shamseer attended the ‘Exhibition of Creative Works,’ which highlighted the artistic and design talents of the JAIN University’s 2024 batch students. The exhibition provided a platform for the students to showcase their innovative and creative skills.He also addressed the huge gathering in which he commended the university’s ongoing sustainable initiatives and emphasized the importance of building a sustainable future. His remarks were well received by both students and faculty, underscoring the institution’s commitment to sustainability. The university extended its appreciation to A.N Shamseer for his participation, continued engagement, encouragement, and support during this noteworthy event.
‘Deeksharambh’ is a 15-day student orientation program organised by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi, for the newly joined students of Batch 2024 to ease their transition to college, familiarise them with the campus, and integrate them into the academic and cultural environment of the university. With the orientation program, the university aims to build a sense of community, encourage involvement in campus life, and offer strategies for managing the shift to college, ultimately supporting students’ academic success and personal well-being.
The event conducted some notable activities included the Trans-Disciplinary Project Centric Learning workshop, Co-Scholastic Cross-Disciplinary Skills Workshop on LSRW, bridge course sessions, skill development workshops such as research and innovation workshop, innovative design workshop, green initiatives and sustainability workshop, SWAMITVA, and special alumni interaction session, among others.
As a part of Deeksharambh some of the prominent personalities and key dignitaries visited JAIN Kochi campus, including. Pradyumna Vyas, current President-Elect for the World Design Organisation and Senior Advisor of Design Promotion and Innovation at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) & former Director of National Institute of Design (NID), India’s premier design institute, Dr. Suresh Nair, IIT Bombay Alumnus and MD of Amara Raja Design Alpha and Biophoton Technology, Andrew D’Cruz, Co-Founder & VFX Supervisor, Mindstein Studios,.Saheera Thangal, Counsellor at the High Court of Kerala, Lakshmi Abhirami R Iyer, a singer, voice-over artist and anchor, Dr. Bindhu Krishnan, Senior Statistician, IBM , Kochi, Sunil Nambiar, Deputy General Manager, Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Company Limited, Yadhu Krishnan, People Operations Business Partner at Fingent, Dr. Anu Sasidharan, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. Mini Sekharan, CUSAT, Dominic Savio, MD, Buzzstop Integrated Communications Pvt. Ltd. In addition to it, the event witnessed the presence of key personalities from the society.
