- BITS Pilani Unveils ‘The School of Interdisciplinary Research and Entrepreneurship’ to strengthen commitment towards cross-disciplinary innovation
BITS Pilani has launched The School of Interdisciplinary Research and Entrepreneurship (SIRE), an online space aimed at advancing research and innovation. SIRE aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among people from diverse academic areas, enabling them to solve complex problems through teamwork and diverse research methods. The initiative will offer various interdisciplinary PhD and minor programmes. The last date to apply for PhD DRIVE is 15th Feb.
The primary activity of SIRE would be to offer various interdisciplinary PhD programme. In addition, the entity shall also manage existing interdisciplinary research and innovation programmes such as CDRF, PhD programmes under various centres of excellence (CoE), SPARKLE, SOLVE, etc.

SIRE aims to provide students with opportunities to engage in advanced collaborative research, fostering creativity and demonstrating BITS Pilani’s commitment to providing top-notch research with innovative ideas”, Sanket Goel, Dean, Research and Innovation, Professor, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad said.

I am eager to work with the BITS community to drive transformative research initiatives and entrepreneurial endeavours”, Hitesh Datt Mathur, said.
BITS Pilani currently has 75 PhD scholars with plans to recruit 30 more by March 2024. SIRE, a school focused on interdisciplinary research is set to welcome nearly a hundred scholars in its initial phase, fostering a vibrant community and developing various Master’s and minor programmes.
