The Hongkong Bank Foundation has been nurturing future leaders with different academic or socioeconomic backgrounds: from students who are going overseas, to those who are going to explore opportunities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The Foundation has supported nearly 7,000 students to pursue their dreams, empowering them to become global citizens through our scholarship schemes. This year, 4 Scholarships under the Foundation will be opened for application in 2023/24.
The Information Session will cover the following Scholarships offered by HSBC:
HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship
History: The Scheme enables local universities/institutions to nominate eligible, full-time, local undergraduate students to apply for a merit-based scholarship. Preference will be given to students with strong financial needs.
Award: HK$50,000 each
HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship
History: This Scholarship encourages HK students to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the Greater Bay Area, fostering competitiveness, confidence, and employability as they embark on a successful and fulfilling career in the region.
Award: HK$80,000 each
HSBC Overseas Scholarship
History: The Scholarship programme aims to offer academically gifted and well-rounded local students the invaluable opportunity to broaden their horizons through either a one-year or one-semester overseas study experience. Preference will be given to students with strong financial needs.
Award: Max. HK$300,000 each, covering airfare, tuition fees, room and board, and a portion of living expenses during overseas study.
Innovation and Technology Scholarship
History: To provide recognition to outstanding local undergraduates in universities in Hong Kong as well as opportunities to widen their international/ Mainland exposure, gain industry experience, and nurture their passion and commitment toward science and technology. Both university exchange programs and visiting studies overseas can be considered for the Scholarship.
Award: Max. HK$150,000 each
Representative from HSBC will give more information on the Scholarships and past awardees will share their experience during the session. Interested LOCAL students are strongly encouraged to attend the Information Session.
