IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies is partnering with start-ups to skill and execute projects in emerging technologies, including drone pilot training, data analytics, AI/ML and Generative AI. The key consequences anticipated from this partnership include developing point solutions for appealing issue areas in AI, ML and Data science as well as newer methods of comprehending cutting-edge technology through start-ups platforms.

Five firms, including Crion versity, Dataswitch, Neekan consulting, Rudram dynamics and Skill angels, recently struck an agreement with IITM Pravartak.
“Startups need to position themselves as top employers and seek to IIT Madras for their talent needs. For pupils to succeed in higher education, start-ups in the skilling sector should become involved early and transmit cognitive capacity, basic arithmetic and science abilities.” Prof V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said.
A Section 8 company, IITM Pravartak Technologies is home to the technology innovation hub on actuators, Networking and Control systems. It is sponsored by the National Mission on interdisciplinary cyber-physical systems of the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology and it is hosted by IIT Madras.
“With these start-ups, we will collaborate in specialised fields such drone pilot training, data analytics, AI/ML and generative AI. For these needs, we use startups like DataSwitch”, Dr MJ Shankar Raman, CEO, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said.
“Neekan Consulting, a marketing consulting firm that supports SMBs and start-ups across all industry verticals. They collaborate with us on product and programme management in addition to educating and preparing freshmen for the workforce. SkillAngels, a company established in the IITM Research Park, employs gamification, animation and adaptive learning techniques for cognitive evaluations and upskilling, Dr MJ Shankar Raman, said.
“These startups provide students a fantastic learning environment because they combine academic and professional competence. One of our partners, Crion Versity, was established by alumni of IIT Madras and has extensive management expertise from leading crion technologies, a digital twin company at IITM Research Park. Their most popular professional experience programmes offer interesting, brief learnings on practical employment skills in fields like data analytics”, Balamurali Shankar, General Manager, Digital Skills Academy of IITM Pravartak, said.
“Rudram Dynamics offers specialist courses in areas including cyber law, B2G (Business to Government) analytics and drone pilot training. Students and professionals in the business now have a number of options for upgrading their skills in their various fields thanks to the convergence of all these start-ups”, Balamurali Shankar, said.
