Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has secured Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings for 2024. The university has secured the 2nd position among all institutions assessed by this ranking agency in India, a substantial leap from its 6th position last year.
Despite the substantial increase in the number of participating institutions, JMI has maintained its standing in the 501-600 band for the second consecutive year. This achievement highlights the university’s consistent commitment to academic excellence and global recognition.
JMI Vice Chancellor Prof Najma Akhtar attributed this progress to the university’s expanding international presence and outreach, coupled with a strong emphasis on high-quality research, publications and teaching. She expressed optimism that JMI’s continued dedication to excellence will result in further advancements in its ranking in the years to come.
