- This partnership entails the development of joint academic programmes and faculty support across various fields
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in the academic realm.
This partnership entails the development of joint academic programmes and faculty support across various fields, aimed at contributing to the accumulation of knowledge and literature in diverse multidisciplinary domains.
These endeavours will involve identifying areas of study and research that may lead to the acquisition of intellectual property rights such as patents and copyrights, in accordance with established intellectual property policies.
In addition to the academic exchanges, the two institutions will also offer certificate and diploma courses spanning the domains of law, science, engineering and technology. These educational initiatives will be accompanied by practical training opportunities and the provision of necessary facilities.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Nirmal Kanti Chakrabarti, the Vice-Chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, in the presence of Professor VK Tewari, the Director of IIT Kharagpur and various faculty and staff members from both institutions.
Professor Tewari expressed his optimism about the collaboration, noting, “These academic exchanges will undoubtedly be instrumental in generating translational research that bridges the realms of law and technology.”
Dr. Chakrabarti also shared his perspective on the MoU, stating, “Today’s agreement between IIT Kharagpur and the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences opens up new opportunities for academic collaboration and research that will explore the intersections of law and technology.”
