IIT Delhi Conferred Degrees to 2350 Graduates in 54th Convention

  • Dr Gagandeep Kang, a Vrologist and Professor of Microbiology at Christian Medical College, Vellore was invited as the Chief Guest of the event.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi organised its 54th convocation ceremony today. The event witnessed the participation of approximately 2,350 graduating students who conferred their degrees.

During this ceremony, degrees granted to students from various programs such as MTech in Electric Mobility, Interdisciplinary MTech in Cyber Security, Masters in Public Policy, Master of Science in Research (MSR) in Materials Science and Engineering, and the Joint PhD program with the University of Queensland, Australia.

Dr Gagandeep Kang, a virologist and professor of microbiology at Christian Medical College, Vellore was invited as the Chief Guest of the event.

Outstanding students recognised with prestigious awards including the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal (named after the former President of India), Perfect Ten Gold Medal and the Institute Silver Medal.

Distinguished alumni received awards include Ashutosh Sabharwal, Professor at Rich University, Houston, Pawan Kumar Jain, MD of INOX Air Products, Nalin Shinghal, CMD of BHEL, Aarti Gupta, Professor at Princeton University and Gurtej S Sandhu, Senior Fellow and VP of Micron Technology.

The ‘Graduates of Last Decade’ (GOLD) award recipients include Aayush Jain, Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh and Ananth Govind Rajan, Assistant Professor at IISc Bengaluru.
