The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM Amritsar) successfully concluded the fourth edition of its annual leadership summit, Aarohan, on February 1, 2025. The event was hosted at Hyatt Regency, Amritsar, and live-streamed on IIM Amritsar’s YouTube for those who couldn’t attend. Aarohan brings together eminent industry leaders and budding managers to discuss recent trends and developments in various domains. This year, the summit explores the theme, “Risk, Reward, and Resilience: Thriving as a Leader in Uncertainty”. Industry mavericks highlighted risk-taking, innovation and a holistic career perspective, stressing the importance of culture, collaboration, and leadership with humility and foresight.

The summit commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, a symbolic gesture of enlightenment and knowledge. The faculty members of IIM Amritsar and the illustrious guests graced the stage, setting the tone for an intriguing exchange.

Following the opening remarks, Aarohan 2025 welcomed V S Ganesh, Managing Director, Page Industries, to the stage. He emphasised that while failure builds resilience, managing success is far more challenging, requiring foresight and adaptability. Entrepreneurs were urged to understand startups before building one and start from the top to ensure employees remain motivated and capable. The importance of balancing risk was underscored through discussions on some vital business frameworks. The speaker also explored the art of prescience, cautioning that leaders must stay ahead of time but not too far ahead, as it can be counterproductive. Notable visionaries like Jeff Bezos, Indira Nooyi and former IndiGo CEO Aditya Ghosh were cited as examples of strategic leadership and risk management.

As the event concluded, Kumar Saket, an alumnus of the MBA programme at IIM Amritsar, delivered the vote of thanks to the esteemed faculty members, dignitaries and participants. To commemorate the occasion, photos were captured and a video presentation crafted by the Media and Public Relations Committee and 50mm, the photography club of IIM Amritsar, was displayed. Aarohan 2025 was a dynamic blend of diverse perspectives, innovative ideas, and a collective dedication to a brighter future.
