- IIT Roorkee announces the ‘Alumnus Awards ceremony 2022’ in academic, research and engineering on the Institute’s Foundation Day
IIT Roorkee has awarded distinguished Alumnus Awards to outstanding alumni on Foundation Day. The awards recognise academic or research excellence, engineering or technology innovation, leadership in the government or public sector, leadership in the private sector, entrepreneurial excellence and service to society. The Distinguished Young Alumnus Award (DYAA) is given to IIT Roorkee alumni below 40.
The Outstanding Service Awards (OSA) at IIT Roorkee acknowledge excellence in academics and research by enhancing the community’s efforts, promoting national and international work and facilitating sponsored research and industrial consultancy.
The Distinguished Alumnus Awards honour alumni of the University of Roorkee or IIT Roorkee for their outstanding contributions in six categories, awarded annually on Foundation Day.
Distinguished Alumnus Awardees include Rashmi Verma, Co-Founder and CTO of MapmyIndia, Ambrish Chandra, Bharat Bhasker, Kamal Bali, Vinay Kumar Tripathi, Harish Kumar, Dr Amit K. Gupta and Rajat Shikhar, Chandra, Professor of Electrical Engineering, Bharat Bhasker is a Director at IIM Ahmedabad, Kamal Bali and CEO.
Distinguished Young Alumnus Awardees include Saurabh Sancheti, Group CFO of Jio Platforms, Nishant Chandra, Co-Founder of Newton School and Siddharth Maheshwari, co-founders of Newton School,
Outstanding Service Awardees include Mohinder L. Nayyar, a mechanical engineer and Pradeep Kumar Kapse, a technical advisor at Eicher Motors Ltd.
