Indian Institute of Management Trichy (IIM Trichy) has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Trading View, a worldwide financial charting and market analysis tool, in an effort to promote financial market education using technology-assisted learning. The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that students and teachers at IIM Trichy have access to sophisticated financial analysis software to learn about the financial markets while studying.
The partnership intends to fill the gap between learning and practical application through incorporation of advanced tools of analysis used in the market. Under the partnership, students will have the opportunity to work on Trading View’s charting platform, as well as the tools used for market screening and analysis.
Under this arrangement, students and teachers will have access to Trading View’s extensive collection of tools related to financial markets. This includes live market data, technical analysis tools, and charting tools. It is believed that the aforementioned resources can be used for coursework, research, case study and projects regarding finance, investment management, capital markets, and business analytics. This partnership is also intended to promote data-based learning as well as enhance analytical skills valued by prospective employers in the financial services industry.
It is the institute’s opinion that integration of theoretical knowledge with market analysis will enable the students to gain a better understanding of equity markets, derivatives, commodity markets, forex and other such financial instruments. Familiarity with these state-of-the-art platforms will make it easier for students to venture into the world of investment banking, asset management, equity research, financial consulting and corporate finance. The faculty will also be able to use the platform for better teaching, research and practical assignments.
