JNU Diploma Admissions 2026 Registration Begins

  • Jawaharlal Nehru University begins registration for Diploma of Proficiency admissions for 2026–27. Eligible candidates can apply until August 17, with the tentative merit list scheduled for release on August 24.

The admission process for Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) DOP courses for the academic year 2026–27 has started. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online to the university through its admission portal starting August 6, with the registration period ending at 11:50 pm on August 17, 2026. Further, JNU has declared that the merit list will be released tentatively on August 24.

The Diplomas of Proficiency Courses are created in such a way that students can gain basic information about their chosen Indian or foreign languages which are provided by different institutions within JNU. These courses will help improve the linguistic knowledge and cultural understanding of the students and give them an opportunity to earn extra academic credentials.

Students who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination are eligible to apply for admission. It should be noted here that the university has made it clear that there is no upper age limit for applicants. This means that people from different educational and professional backgrounds will get the opportunity to enroll themselves in this program. The applicants need to fill out the application form online and pay the fees before the deadline.

As per the admission schedule, the pre-registration and payment of fees for those selected will be done during the period of August 24 to 27, while the verification of documents physically will be done on August 31. The last date for admission and registration in the university has been fixed as September 10. It is recommended to all the candidates to keep checking the admission portal from time to time.

The JNU provides Diploma of Proficiency courses through its unique language centers, which help the learners, acquire practical skills in communication while being exposed to various cultures. This is especially useful for those learners who would like to work in fields such as international relations, translations, tourism, academia, diplomacy, and global business.
