- Andhra Pradesh signs agreements with Australian institutions to strengthen inclusive education, student mental health, vocational training and international collaboration through technology-enabled and research-driven initiatives.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Australian institutions to strengthen collaboration in inclusive education, student mental health, vocational training, and workforce development. The agreements are signed in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Education, Information Technology and Electronics, and Julian Hill, Australia’s Assistant Minister for International Education, Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs. The partnerships build on recent discussions between the two sides aimed at expanding academic, research, and skill development cooperation.
One of the key agreements brings together the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), and Samagra Shiksha Andhra Pradesh to enhance inclusive education. The collaboration focuses on strengthening teachers’ capacity to support children with autism and other neurodiverse learning needs through specialised training programmes, professional development initiatives, and access to evidence-based teaching resources. The initiative aims to create more inclusive classrooms and improve learning outcomes for students with diverse educational requirements.
Another significant MoU is signed between the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and Australia’s Rebound to launch a technology-enabled pilot programme for student mental health in selected higher education institutions. The initiative will provide confidential wellness assessments, evidence-based mental health resources, and virtual counselling services at no cost to participating institutions. The programme is designed to encourage students to seek timely support while ensuring privacy and reducing the stigma associated with mental health care.
In addition, the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has entered into an agreement with Australia’s Dynamic Learning Services (DLS) to strengthen vocational education and industry-aligned workforce training. The partnership aims to deliver globally recognised professional certifications, improve employability, and create international career pathways for students and professionals.
According to Nara Lokesh, the agreements reflect the growing partnership between Andhra Pradesh and Australian institutions in education, research, innovation, and skill development. State officials note that these collaborations are expected to improve teaching quality, enhance student wellbeing, and equip learners with globally relevant skills. By combining international expertise with local implementation, the initiatives support Andhra Pradesh’s vision of building a future-ready education ecosystem that promotes inclusion, innovation, and workforce readiness while strengthening long-term academic ties with Australia.
