NEET PG 2026 Registration Begins: NBEMS Issues Guidelines

  • NBEMS begins NEET PG 2026 registrations, inviting eligible medical graduates to apply by July 21 while issuing revised guidelines on exam centres, biometric verification, and application procedures.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has commenced the online registration process for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026. Eligible candidates seeking admission to MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB programmes can submit their applications through the official NBEMS portal until July 21, 2026. The entrance examination is scheduled to be held on August 30 in a computer-based format.

Alongside the registration process, NBEMS has issued detailed guidelines to help candidates complete their applications correctly. Applicants have been advised to read the information bulletin carefully before filling out the form and to avoid waiting until the last date, as heavy website traffic could lead to technical issues.

One of the major changes this year relates to exam centre allocation. Unlike previous years, centres will no longer be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, candidates will be assigned test cities through a revised allocation process aimed at ensuring a more balanced distribution of examinees across available centres.

NBEMS has introduced revised verification rules for NEET PG, including Aadhaar-based authentication during the examination process to strengthen candidate verification and improve transparency. Applicants must ensure that their application details, photographs, signatures, and thumb impressions are clear and meet the prescribed standards, as incorrect or unclear documents may result in application rejection.

To be eligible, candidates must possess a recognised MBBS degree and fulfil the internship and registration requirements specified by NBEMS. It is also essential that all personal and academic information entered in the application matches the supporting documents to avoid issues during counselling or admission. After the registration period closes, NBEMS will provide a correction window, allowing candidates to rectify permitted errors before the examination.

City intimation slips and admit cards will be released ahead of the exam, enabling candidates to confirm their examination centre and schedule. As India’s national entrance examination for postgraduate medical education, NEET PG plays a vital role in admissions to government and private medical institutions. The updated registration process and guidelines are designed to enhance transparency, strengthen candidate verification, streamline exam management, and ensure a smoother and more secure examination experience for all candidates.
