Andhra Pradesh Governor Interacts with Yuva Sangam Delegation at IIT Tirupati

Governor of Andhra Pradesh S Abdul Nazeer interacted with a youth delegation from Maharashtra visiting the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati under the Yuva Sangam initiative on Monday. The delegation, led by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, is participating in a series of academic, cultural and experiential activities designed to strengthen inter-state understanding and youth engagement across the country.

Addressing the students, the Governor highlighted the role of young people in nation-building and said cultural understanding and inter-state collaboration remain important for strengthening India’s unity in diversity. He said initiatives such as Yuva Sangam create opportunities for students to connect with different regions, traditions and communities, helping foster emotional integration and national harmony.

Nazeer also appreciated the programme’s role in promoting people-to-people connections and enabling participants to experience India’s cultural diversity and developmental progress firsthand. He encouraged students to carry forward the values of mutual respect, collaboration and learning as ambassadors of national integration.

During the visit, the delegation interacted with faculty members, researchers, innovators and students at IIT Tirupati and received exposure to scientific research, technological advancements and academic activities at the institute. Participants also took part in cultural interactions and community engagement programmes aimed at introducing them to the traditions and heritage of Southern India.

Yuva Sangam Phase VI, launched by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, focuses on strengthening cultural harmony, national unity and emotional integration through educational and cultural exchange programmes. The initiative brings together participants from 22 paired States and Union Territories to promote a deeper understanding of India’s regional diversity, innovation ecosystems and shared development goals.
