University of Southampton Delhi has teamed up with Genpact to develop work-ready skills for students.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to strengthen industry-academia collaboration with the aim of nurturing future-ready graduates who can go on to enjoy global careers.
University of Southampton Delhi will work closely with Genpact, an agentic and advanced technology solutions company, at the new state-of-the-art campus at International Tech Park in Gurgaon on initiatives including research and innovation projects as well as community engagement.
Students will be offered invaluable opportunities to take part in drop-in sessions, employer talks, skills development workshops and networking events. The collaboration will also provide graduate talent for Genpact via internships and placements.
Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice-President International and Engagement at the University of Southampton, said: “This partnership lays the foundations for long-term collaboration across innovation, civic and community initiatives between our university and Genpact.” “At University of Southampton Delhi we will equip students with the skills and opportunities they need to build global careers and partnerships such as this will enhance their experience, alongside our world-leading reputation for excellence in education and research.”
Ritu Bhatia, Global Hiring Leader at Genpact, said: “The future of work demands skills at the intersection of AI, data, and domain expertise. Our collaboration with the University of Southampton Delhi isn’t just about education; it’s a strategic investment to build the talent pool that will drive the global economy forward. We’re committed to empowering students with practical, industry-relevant knowledge to make them invaluable assets and future leaders, and we look forward to welcoming them into Genpact to innovate and shape what’s next.”
Opened in August, University of Southampton Delhi is the first international campus approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under India’s National Education Policy.
The campus will initially offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in economics, finance, computing, and business with courses specifically designed to prepare students for global careers.
In addition to receiving support within the campus, students will have access to the wider University’s market-leading employability development offering, consisting of online resources, regular workshops, one-to-one guidance and support with qualified careers professionals.
This collaboration adds to a growing list of strategic engagements at the Delhi campus, including those with Deloitte India, Investec, and Comviva.
