CMR University Inaugurates Undergraduate Programmes with Engineer’s Day Celebration

CMR University’s School of Engineering and Technology and School of Architecture inaugurated their undergraduate B.Tech and B.Arch programmes for the academic year 2025–26 with a special Engineer’s Day celebration at the scenic Lakeside Campus in Bagalur. The event drew over 750 students, faculty, and distinguished guests, setting the stage for an inspiring academic journey.

Welcoming the gathering, Dr. N. Kannan, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, said the occasion marked not just the beginning of classes but a commitment to innovation and excellence.

Presiding over the ceremony, Dr. H. B. Raghavendra, Vice-Chancellor, underlined CMR University’s strong academic ecosystem. “With our experienced faculty, robust support systems, and focus on holistic student development, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers and architects. We also deeply appreciate the trust parents have placed in us as partners in their children’s academic journey,” he said.

The Guests of Honor inspired students with forward-looking perspectives.

Dr. A. T. Kishore, Founder Director of Dhanwantari Drone Pilot Academy, highlighted India’s progress under Viksit Bharat and stressed the growing role of drones and robotics in agriculture. “Students of CMR University can now participate in DGCA-certified drone piloting training, opening up opportunities in emerging industries,” he announced, while encouraging students to pursue entrepreneurship.

Mr. George Jacob, Founder & CEO of Semicon Design, addressed the theme “Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade.” He spoke on the critical role of semiconductors, the impact of geopolitics on technology, and the need for future-ready skills. “Go beyond scores develop analytical and critical thinking abilities to thrive in tomorrow’s world,” he urged students.

Both Guests of Honor were felicitated for their distinguished contributions to engineering and innovation. The event was also attended by Dr. R. Praveen, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Dhanamjaya M, Registrar, and senior academic leaders.

Following the formal proceedings, dignitaries visited student project exhibitions where innovative models and ideas were showcased. The celebration concluded as both a launchpad for the new academic year and a tribute to the spirit of engineering excellence.
