Alliance University Broadens ‘Vidya Spandana’ Initiative for Meritorious Students from Economically Disadvantaged Backgrounds in Karnataka

Alliance University, one of India’s top-ranked private universities, has launched the second edition of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, ‘Alliance Vidya Spandana’, reaffirming its commitment to equitable access to higher education for deserving students from economically disadvantaged and economically weaker sections (EWS) of society in Karnataka.

Launched in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) – Quality Education for All – Alliance Vidya Spandana provides a 100% tuition fee waiver for undergraduate programmes at the University to meritorious students from Karnataka facing financial hardship. For the academic year 2025–26, the initiative will fully support seven students from across the state, enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations without financial constraints.

The selection process was rigorous and transparent, attracting 173 applications statewide. Each applicant underwent a multi-stage evaluation, including academic merit screening, personal interviews, and physical verification of residence to ensure eligibility. The final cohort of seven students was chosen purely on the basis of merit and financial need.

In a statement, the university said, “At Alliance University, access to quality education is not limited by a student’s financial background. Vidya Spandana is the commitment of the University towards building a more inclusive and equitable future, one student at a time.”

Since its inception in 2024, Vidya Spandana has made a transformative impact, with the inaugural edition benefiting 23 students and changing the trajectory of their educational journeys. By expanding such initiatives, Alliance University continues to foster a culture of inclusivity, opportunity, and academic excellence across Karnataka.
