CMR University marked the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year for its School of Economics and Commerce, School of Legal Studies, School of Management, and School of Science & Computer Studies with a vibrant Inaugural and Orientation programme held on 25th July at its OMBR campus. The event brought together over 1,100 enthusiastic new students and their parents, all eager to embark on this exciting new academic journey.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Justice Sri B.A. Patil, Former Judge of the High Court of Karnataka and former Chairman of the Karnataka Land Grabbing Prohibition Special Courts, as the Chief Guest. Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy, IPS (Retd.), Chairman of the CMR Group of Institutions, CMR University and former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), served as the Guest of Honour. They were joined by university dignitaries including Dr. H.B. Raghavendra, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Praveen R., Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Dhanamjaya M., Registrar, as well as the Deans and Directors of various schools.
In his welcome address, Dr. H.B. Raghavendra thanked students and parents for placing their trust in CMR University and assured them that the institution is committed to delivering holistic development and academic excellence across disciplines. He briefed the students on the various opportunities for growth and innovation that CMR will offer them throughout their academic journey.
Justice Sri B.A. Patil inaugurated the event and exhorted them to strive for excellence. Describing CMR University as a compass to guide their educational journey, he urged them to take full advantage of the university’s resources. He also encouraged them to develop problem-solving skills for the future, besides emphasising the importance of wisdom, humility, and learning from mistakes. He congratulated Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy for establishing a reputed institution in Bangalore.
Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy encouraged the students to perform their academic duties with due diligence. He urged them to aim for excellence and stressed the importance of planning for the long term. “With proper conduct, it is inevitable that companies will come in search of you, and you will not have to carry out exhaustive job hunting,” added the Chairman.
The event officially welcomed the new batch into the CMR University community, laying the foundation for an exciting and fulfilling academic journey ahead. The university reaffirmed its dedication to providing quality education, fostering innovation, and nurturing the future leaders of society.
