Vishwakarma University (VU) has reached a significant milestone by securing the prestigious Certificate of International Affiliation from the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) India Affiliate. This recognition places VU among a select network of global academic institutions dedicated to advancing excellence in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), marking a crucial step in the university’s commitment to providing contemporary, globally relevant education.
IRM, headquartered in the United Kingdom in 1986, is the world’s leading certifying body for ERM, with a presence in 143 countries. IRM is the only body to award professional designations in ERM up to Fellowship (Stage / Level 5).
The collaboration between VU and IRM India Affiliate is designed to integrate best-in-class risk management practices into VU’s curriculum. In today’s rapidly changing world, where issues like climate change, cybersecurity, geopolitical instability, and evolving regulatory frameworks are ever-present, risk literacy has become a vital life skill. This partnership will enable students at VU to gain comprehensive knowledge of more than 300 types of risks, spanning environmental, strategic, operational, and technological domains, equipping them for future challenges.
Vishwakarma University will embed IRM’s Global Level 1 ERM Certification within its academic programs, ensuring that students are exposed to world-class risk management frameworks. Additionally, faculty members will benefit from exclusive scholarships and professional training, enhancing their teaching capabilities and ensuring that VU’s academic offerings remain on the cutting edge.
The formal signing ceremony took place in the presence of key academic and professional leaders. Bharat Agarwal, President of Vishwakarma University, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, “Risk literacy is no longer just a supplementary skill—it is foundational. Through this affiliation with IRM, we will offer our students globally aligned, industry-relevant knowledge that will empower them to lead and navigate through complex, ever-evolving challenges.”
