Swiss International University Issues Advisory on Unaccredited Entities Misusing Its Name

A warning was issued regarding unaccredited institutions that falsely claim affiliation or endorsement by Swiss International University (SIU), saying that while SIU has campuses everywhere, the university will have campuses only in seven cities by 2025. On SIU’s website, swissuniversity.com, any new campuses or expansions will be announced officially.

SIU is internationally recognized as a reliable source of top-ranked, high-quality education and has become a target for scammers trying to exploit its esteemed reputation. These scammers mislead, confuse, and trick potential students and academic partners with exaggerated claims of preferential treatment, scholarships, and guaranteed admission in exchange for receiving high upfront payments for services that either do not exist or do not meet SIU’s academic standards.

In its official statement, SIU indicated that it does not authorize any agents or individuals to represent the university at sites outside of the established campuses. Any updates regarding the university’s operations, activities, or new office openings will only be made through the official channels provided through the university’s website and press releases.

Swiss International University is committed to maintaining the highest educational standards and protecting the integrity of our brand,” said an SIU spokesperson. “We encourage any individuals contacted by individuals or organizations claiming to represent SIU to confirm the information on our official website, as we are taking serious steps to address the growing problem of impersonation.”

Reports of fraudulent activities have surfaced in the Arabian Gulf and several European countries, where unaccredited individuals or organizations have falsely claimed affiliation with the SIU. These entities offer unverifiable guarantees and demand large upfront payments for services that do not meet SIU’s rigorous academic standards.

Swiss International University is recognized for its rigorous academic programs and internationally accredited degrees, with campuses that adhere to the high standards associated with Swiss education. This advisory aims to safeguard prospective students from falling victim to unaccredited institutions and ensure they engage only with the legitimate SIU.

SIU wishes for everyone to remain open and credible, so be careful in your interactions with educational agencies or representatives who provide SIU-related services and advice without your appropriate due diligence. They also reiterated that admissions should only be done through the appropriate channels provided by the SIU. SIU lists on the university’s website all of the accredited SIU campuses in major cities around the world.

Currently, SIU has campuses in seven cities: Dubai, Zurich, Bishkek, London, Riga, Lucerne, and Osh. These cities have been chosen to create a positive educational experience for students where they can learn and sometimes learn to work together across countries. SIU issued a response to clarify that it will never announce new office openings or operate any other business in a new office without follow-up through its official website; instead, students, stakeholders, and interested parties need to verify that the information was crafted and is legitimate before sending money.
