BITS Pilani has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The University of Manchester to facilitate collaborative academic and research initiatives. The agreement was formalised at BITS Pilani’s Hyderabad campus during a visit by a delegation from The University of Manchester, led by Stephen Flint.
This partnership concentrates on the joint development of quality academic degree programs, undertakes joint research, and enables the movement of students and faculty.
Speaking on the announcement, Stephen Flint, Associate Vice President International, University of Manchester, stated, “The University of Manchester is delighted to enter into this agreement with India’s premier private institution to co create a portfolio of high quality programmes across science and engineering.”
The agreement also outlines opportunities for collaboration in areas such as industry engagement, teaching, online education, and the co supervision of doctoral research. It further enables the development of dual or joint degree programmes in accordance with regulations set by Indian authorities, including the UGC and AICTE.

The MoU establishes a framework for academic exchange, research collaboration, and international engagement. BITS Pilani, The University of Manchester, and JNCASR, Bengaluru, will work together to pursue global research funding and organise joint academic events.
