The leading education group Jain announces the launch of a new multidisciplinary private university in Kerala. The decision to establish a new university was made under the Kerala State Private University Act, approved by the Cabinet, and it aligns with “Future Kerala Mission” which was envisioned as an inspiration from the Summit of Future organized by Jain University. The announcement was made in the Invest Kerala Global Summit.
The new University,to be name as Jain Global University, will be headquartered in Calicut, with proposed campuses in Trivandrum, Kottayam, Thrissur, and Kannur. With an initial investment of ₹350 crore, this pioneering institution is set to revolutionize higher education in Kerala through a technology-driven, experiential, and learner-centric approach.
The Future Kerala Mission is an initiative aimed at making Kerala a better place to live by strengthening research-driven education, entrepreneurship, employability and youth empowerment- the Jain Global University will focus on skill development, job creation, and innovation-driven learning. This will equip students for global opportunities while enabling them to contribute to Kerala’s progress and sustainable growth.
Built on a foundation of strategic partnerships, the university will equip the students with the skills and mindset to lead, innovate, and create lasting impact. By blending academic excellence with real-world learning, this initiative aspires to nurture a dynamic and inclusive learning ecosystem, contributing to Kerala’s transformation into an even better place to live, work, and thrive. The goal is to transform Kerala into a global education hub by attracting students from within and outside the country to the state through excellent study programs.
The number of students from Kerala seeking quality higher education abroad is substantial. In this context, Jain Group of Institutions Chancellor Dr. Chenraj Roychand stated that Kerala is placing more emphasis on ensuring world-class education within the state for those who aim to pursue excellent education and move to foreign countries or other states.
Since 2019, Jain University has been operating in Kochi. Along with this, the Jain Global University and its sub-campuses will bring about significant changes in Kerala’s education sector, said Dr. Tom Joseph, Director of New Initiatives at Jain University.
Jain deemed to be a University is owned by the Jain Group of Institutions, which manages over 80 institutions, including two universities, and has been in education for over 30 years. The university is one of the leading educational institutes in the country with NAAC A Double Plus recognition and Category One Graded Autonomy by UGC.
