Aadhya Paul Tops Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2024-25, Continues Her Streak of Excellence

Aadhya Paul, a 12-year-old Class 7 student of Atomic Energy Central School-4, has emerged as the state topper in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2024-25, India’s largest digital science talent search program. The State Level Camp (SLC) of VVM, held at Sathaye College, Mumbai, celebrated the brightest scientific minds from the Konkan region, where Aadhya’s exceptional performance brought pride to her school and the entire state.

The camp saw participation from 126 students, shortlisted from over 3,500 students who excelled in the district-level exams conducted in October 2024. The rigorous selection process included rounds such as the Application Oriented Scholastic Aptitude Test (AOSAT) and an Experimental Skill Test (EST). Out of these participants, 18 students were declared winners, with 12 selected to represent Maharashtra in the national camp scheduled for May 2025. Aadhya, the first-rank holder in her category, received a cash prize of ₹5,000, along with a certificate and a trophy.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is a prestigious initiative by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and NCERT. The program aims to ignite curiosity among students and showcase the contributions of Indian scientists to global progress. It evaluates students on their grasp of scientific concepts and their awareness of India’s scientific heritage, offering a platform to nurture talent and inspire innovation.

Aadhya’s achievement is not a first. She was a national winner in the 2023-24 VVM competition held at IISER Bhopal, demonstrating remarkable consistency in high-level scientific competitions. Her academic portfolio is decorated with accolades, including a gold medal at the Dr. Homi Bhabha Balvaidnyanik Competition 2024 for her research on “Sustainable Nanopowder Impregnated Cloths for a Healthy Environment.”

Her ingenuity doesn’t stop there. Aadhya’s “Smart Apron for Delivery Boys” project earned recognition at various national-level competitions, including Inspire Manak. Recently, her science project was selected for the CBSE National Science Exhibition, where she will represent Maharashtra in her category. She has also excelled in numerous national and international Olympiads, showcasing her multifaceted brilliance.

Reflecting on her achievements, Aadhya shared, “These experiences have encouraged me to explore new horizons in science and technology. I am excited to compete at the national level and further enhance my knowledge.” Her dedication to her work and passion for science serves as an inspiration for her peers and educators alike.

With her eyes set on upcoming national-level competitions, Aadhya continues to work tirelessly, solidifying her place as one of India’s most promising young scientists. Her journey is a shining example of how determination and curiosity can drive innovation and create a positive impact on society.
