In a landmark initiative aimed at expanding global education opportunities, the University of Windsor (UWindsor) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the presitigious Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr Sagunthala R and D Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai to launch and renew an exclusive scholarship programme for the next five years. This initiative will facilitate reciprocal student mobility between the two institutions.
The re-engagement will provide an opportunity for the best and brightest engineering students at Vel Tech to enrol in a 16 month Master’s program at UWindsor and increase future faculty led student exchange opportunities between the two institutions. This scholarship gives recognition to the performance of Vel Tech students in academics and entitles them with an opportunity to learn with their International counterparts in a world-class learning environment.
Dr Robert Gordon, Vice Chancellor, University of Windsor took this opportunity to say, “We are delighted to offer this exclusive scholarship to Vel Tech students, recognizing their exceptional academic merit while encouraging future collaboration through faculty-led student mobility. This programme has no set limits on the number of beneficiaries, emphasizing our commitment to fostering accessible, high-quality international education.”

The MoU was formally singhed in Chennai by Dr. Robert Gordon, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Windsor, and Prof. S. Salivahanan, Vice-Chancellor of Vel Tech, during the Canadian Delegation’s visit to India.
During this tour, Dr. Robert Gordon, Vice-Chancellor of UWindsor, will be visting six major cities—Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Trichy, and Mumbai—engaging in high-level meetings with esteemed academic leaders to foster educational opportunities between Canada and India.
