- Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL) collaborates with Mumbai’s VES and VJTI to support engineering students through scholarships and research grants in energy transition innovation
Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL) has partnered with the Vivekanand Education Society (VES) and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) in Mumbai to promote academic excellence in engineering. The partnership is a part of MAIRE group’s Scholarship and Fellowship programmes, aiming to foster innovation in the energy transition space.
The partnership will support 24 talented students through mentoring and lectures on energy transition topics. TCMPL is offering 10 scholarships to 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students in the Automation and Robotics department at VES Institute of Technology, aiming to promote early engagement on energy transition topics, ensuring equal gender representation.
TCMPL and VJTI offer annual research grants to 12 Master of Technology and 2 PhD students in the Department of Energy Security & Sustainability, specifically in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering disciplines.
MAIRE’s technical team reviews projects ranging from sustainable solutions for cement production and blast furnace combustion by-products to hydrogen storage and transport materials. Quarterly review meetings with faculty and company mentors are also scheduled for students.
MAIRE’s technical team will guide selected students, enhancing their academic and professional growth. TCMPL will host Industrial Oriented sessions at VES Institute of Technology and VJTI, providing practical knowledge and insights to bridge the gap between academia and industry. This prepares the next generation of engineers for the dynamic challenges of the industry by relating theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios.
Dr Sachin Kore, Director, VJTI, said, “VJTI is partnering with TCMPL to provide grants to 12 students, focusing on Energy Transition research. The collaboration is expected to guide fellows and faculty members.”
Dr J M Nair, Principal,VESIT, said “TCMPL supports low-income students through their Group Scholarship Programme and encourages them to participate in academic projects. The company plans to expand industry-oriented lectures on emerging topics like green hydrogen, aiming to bridge the gap between industry and academia.”
