IIM Jammu Launches Leadership Programme

  • IIM Jammu Inaugurates Education Leadership Development Training Programme for College Principals of Jammu and Kashmir from 8th of January to 12th January 2024

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has initiated a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled, ‘Education Leadership Development Training Programme’ for College Principals of Jammu and Kashmir. This programme is organised under the aegis of the Executive Education and Consultancy Division.

“The programme signifies our commitment to fostering educational leadership, giving college principals the authority to direct academic achievement in the U.T. of Jammu and Kashmir. I would want to strongly recommend that educational institutions cooperate to further global progress and nation-building”, Jabir Ali, Dean of Academics, IIM Jammu, expressed.

“IIM Jammu’s steadfast dedication to academic achievement is exemplified by the Education Leadership Development Training Programme. The programme emphasis on supporting innovation and conforming to the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) is essential for the expansion of our educational system. The three Institutes of National Importance—IIM, IIT and AIIMS, make Jammu special. Programmes like the BTech + MBA with IIT Jammu and the MBA in Hospital Administration and Management with IIT and AIIMS are examples of collaborations that align with NEP 2020”, B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, stated.

The participants were given a tour of the Institute including the state-of-the-art Library at IIM Jammu.

The programme aims to equip Principals and Senior faculty of colleges with essential leadership skills, aligning their vision with contemporary educational trends and the evolving needs of students and the community. The Key objectives include the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in colleges, enhancing instructional leadership, fostering effective communication, promoting cultural competence, encouraging innovation and adaptability and instilling data-informed decision-making skills.
