Amity University Introduces Programme For French Students

  • Strapline: Amity University, Noida has organised a six-day India immersion programme for 45 French tourism management students till 1 November 2023 accompanied by four French faculty members from the region

45 France-based tourism management students are enrolled in India immersion programme by Amity University, Noida. Students pursuing undergrad and postgrad degrees in tourism management, will be participating. Students will be accompanied by four French faculty members from Saint Marie de Chavagnes Cannes, France.

“Amity University emphasising tourism’s role in fostering relations and promoting peace. We believe visiting different countries and learning about their lifestyles, food and traditions is crucial for personal and professional growth. We are also excited about opening a French Centre to strengthen ties between India and France”, Christophe Martin, Group Director, Saint Marie de Chavagnes Cannes, France, said.

“We appreciate the opportunity to bring French students to Amity, as it provides exposure and learning opportunities, broadening their horizons and preparing them to become global citizens”, Dr Vanessa GB, Vice Chair International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA), addressed.

“The India immersion programme offers global exposure to youth, allowing them to visit industries and learn about India’s culture and heritage. Under the NEP 2020, students can complete part of their programme in other institutions through joint degree and twining programmes. Amity University offers a 50 per cent scholarship to students from other countries seeking to study at Amity, ensuring the best knowledge, learning and education during their stay”, Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, said.

“French students who visited Amity are considered winners and leaders due to their decision to leave their home country and explore a different environment. This historic moment will be cherished in their lives, as India and France share strong bilateral ties. Programmes like these strengthen these ties”, Vikas Khanduri, Director, Viva Voyages, said.

“The Amity India immersion programme offers french students an educational opportunity to learn about India’s values, traditions and culture. The programme includes sessions with industry leaders, visits to cultural sites and industry visits to well-known travel companies. The programme aims to foster inter-cultural exchange and enrich students knowledge about the tourism industry. It also provides an opportunity for cultural exchange between the two countries”, Dr M. Sajnani, Director, Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism, said.
