AlmaBetter Partners with IIT to Offer Certificate Courses

  • Under certification programmes, students will get IIT certified global standard education, advanced certification in full-stack data science, full-stack web development and artificial intelligence

AlmaBetter and IIT Guwahati have collaborated to offer certification programmes in Data Science, AI and web development. Under certification programmes, students will get IIT-certified global standard education, advanced certification in full-stack data science, full-stack web development, and artificial intelligence (AI). Access to guest lectures by the IIT Guwahati faculty, campus immersion opportunity at the IIT Guwahati campus. Students eyeing IIT-certified programs can access a global curriculum via a flexible way of learning focused on job outcomes with access to AlmaBetter. After completing this certification, students can add an IIT endorsement to their resumes.

E&ICT Academies are a joint initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Government of India and IIT and NITs. In the present scenario, access to premium institutes and high-quality tech education is limited to a select few but restricted to only some premium institutes.

This partnership is a significant milestone in AlmaBetter’s mission to provide a global standard of tech education to students who cannot afford or access the best education. This partnership enables AlmaBetter to further its mission at a faster pace.” Shivam Dutta, Co-founder and CEO, AlmaBetter, said.

AlmaBetter, founded in 2020 by five IIT-educated entrepreneurs, aims to democratize tech education in India by addressing access and affordability issues with support from Kalaari Capital and 15+ angel investors, it has had a 92% placement rate in the last three years. In July, AlmaBetter launched AlmaBetter Innovarsity, allocating INR 50 crore to enhance learner experience and offer merit-based scholarships. 50% of this fund will be allocated to scholarships in partnership with IIT Guwahati.

“The E&ICT Academy aims to improve the employability of tech students and professionals in the country through a partnership with AlmaBetter, enabling the academy to reach more students nationwide and provide the best education and employability skills,” Gaurav Trivedi, Principal Investigator, EICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, said.
