Expanding the gambit of Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) Delhi government announced on Sunday that now students enrolled in this school will have free access to IIT-JEE and NEET Coaching. The virtual school will also be offering job-oriented courses like coding, digital media and design and finance and accounting.
DMVS is a full-time regular online school, affiliated with Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE). It was started in 2022 and has been catering to students from 13 states in its first batch. Students have been admitted in class IX in these schools.
Reviewing the work being done at DMVS, education minister Atishi said that admission for the virtual school will begin soon for the 2023-24 academic session. She also instructed officials to prepare a five-year action plan for DMVS.
“Our aim through the virtual school is to make quality education more accessible and inclusive so that students from anywhere in India can easily become a part of it in large numbers and as per their convenience. With this aim, we launched DMVS last year. Even as this school is virtual, it has all the advantages of a physical institution. Today, students from 13 states, including Delhi, are studying here, and this year our focus is to expand its reach to more states across the country,” said Atishi.
She also stressed that the government’s goal through DMVS is to ensure that Delhi’s quality education model is easily available to everyone.
“DMVS will also offer students job-oriented courses like coding, digital media and design, finance and accounting, along with short-term and advanced courses designed by industry experts,” she added.
The students in this school are taught by integrating live classes, recorded sessions, assignments and assessments, curated videos, tutorials, and personalised mentor sessions.
